Mucin-6 Glycoprotein

Mucin is a high molecular weight glycoprotein, and its synthesis and secretion is one of the characteristics of epithelial tissue. In physiological state Muc-2 is expressed only in the normal intestinal mucosa, also known as intestinal mucus, Muc-5AC and Muc-6 are expressed only in the normal gastric mucosa, also known as gastric mucus. In the differential diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumor, the combination of the three is of some significance.
