Mucin-5AC Glycoprotein

Mucin is a high molecular weight glycoprotein, and its synthesis and secretion is one of the characteristics of epithelial tissue. Muc-5AC is mainly distributed in the normal stomach epithelial and embryonic structure mucous membrane, while the adult colon mucous membrane does not express, it forms a layer of mucus on the surface of the mucous membrane, protecting the mucous membrane.The expression or abnormal expression of Muc-5AC protein can be observed in precancerous lesions or cancerous tissues of the colon, stomach, gallbladder, and non-small cell lung cancer. It is mainly used in the study of stomach cancer, colon cancer and various enterobiosis.
