P57 protein is one part of cyclin dependent kinase family whose genes are located on chromosome 11p15.5, one of the most common gene imprinting regions. The gene's deficiency has been found in a variety of tumors, which may promote tumor proliferation. P57 protein is mainly used in the identification diagnosis of complete hydatidiform moles and partial complete hydatidiform moles which has high sensitivity and specificity.
