Neurofilament Antibodies (NF)

The neurofilament antibody is the main structural component of neural axons and nerve fibres. The NF antibody consists of three main sub-units, known as threeconjoined of the neural filament with a molecular weight of 68kD, 160kD, and 200kD. It has been reported that the NF antibody sub-unit is present in neurons, nerve protrusions, peripheral nerves and sympathetic nerve cells. In tumors, only neurogenic tumor cells or tumor cells that show neuronal differentiation express the NF antibodies.
