Multiplex Immunofluorescence (mIF) is an advanced technique widely used in pathology and biomedical research to simultaneously detect and visualize multiple biomarkers within a single tissue section. It enables detailed analysis of protein expression, interactions, and spatial distribution within the tissue microenvironment.
Chromogenic multiplex IHC (mIHC) is a simpler alternative suitable for routine use; however, it is typically limited to the detection of up to four markers per slide. Moreover, chromogenic methods often struggle to resolve co-localization of markers—particularly those expressed on membranes or within nuclei—whereas fluorescence-based approaches excel in this regard.
