Hepatocyte Specific Antigen (HSA)

It is reported that hepatoblastoma is the most common primary liver tumor in children..It is sometimes difficult to identify hepatoblastoma and other children's small round cell tumors, especially embryonic hepatoblastoma. The expression of hepatocellular-specific antigens, hepatitis afetal protein (AFP) or cancer-embryo antigen (CEA) has been reportedly detected in normal fetal liver cells and malignant liver cells.

HSA can identify atypical antigens present in both normfal liver cells in adults and fetuses, resulting in clear cytoplasmic particle staining.
