Stathmin1/oncoprotein 18, also called STMN1, is a highly conserved 17kDa protein, which has the role of controlling signals in the cell and integrating the cellular environment. Stathmin is related to the control of the microtubule system, which avoids the polymerization of microtubules and promotes the depolymerization of microtubules. The overexpression of Stathmin will enhance the depolymerization of microtubules.
