Vimentin

Eukaryotic cell cytoplasm contains many types of intermediate filament proteins, microtubules, microfilaments and intermediate filament (IF). Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein with a molecular weight of 57kD. It is reported that is expressed in most cells of mesenchymal origin including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, smooth muscle, melanocytes, and T and B lymphocytes.
