Villin and structurally related gelsolin, fragmin and sevenrin, are all involved in the framework regulation and assembly of actin. It is normally distributed in intestinal epithelium and renal proximal tubule epithelium, can be used for the differential diagnosis of tumors derived from intestinal epithelium and non-intestinal epithelial tumors, and can also be used as a reference index for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors.

Rectal adenocarcinoma tissue stained with Villin
This antibody is intended for use in Immunohistochemical applications on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues (FFPE). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient’s clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
