Parathyroid Hormone (PTH)

Parathyroid hormone (PTH), an alkaline single-chain peptide hormone secreted by the main cells of the parathyroid gland. Its main function is to regulate the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus in the body, causing blood calcium levels to rise and blood phosphorus levels to decrease. At the same time, it also acts on the intestinal and kidney tubes, so that the absorption of calcium increases, thus maintaining the .stability of blood calcium value. It is commonly used in the diagnosis and study of parathyroid tumors.
