Ksp-cadherin

Ksp-cadherin is a new member of the family of cadherins. The protein has kidney specificity. In kidney tissue, Ksp-cadherin only expresses in the epithelial membrane and the epithelial of the kidney tube. And does not express in the. renal cells, internephalic cells and blood vessels Many different cadherins(E-cadherins, N-cadherins ,cadherins- δ and so on) were found and validated in renal cell tumors. The absence of some cadherins may be associated with tumor dedifferentiation and lymph node metastasis. Shen et al. research data show that Ksp-cadherin has up to 100% sensitivity (13/13) in renal cell carcinoma and 95% sensitivity (19/20) in renal acidophilic cell adenomas.
