CD71

CD71 molecules are Ⅱ type membrane glycoprotein molecular weight was about 180 kd.CD71 is thought to be an iron transporter receptor and consists of 90KD subunits of two disulfide compounds. The CD71 molecule plays a key role in cell proliferation by controlling the supply of iron, which is the basis of many metabolic bypasses, by binding to the intracellular phagocytosis of iron transporters, primarily iron-carrying proteins.CD71 protein has been reported to be expressed in activated B and T cells, macrophages, proliferative cells and metabolically active cells such as neurons.
