CD44V6

The CD44 molecule belongs to the cell adhesion molecule family and is widely found in normal and malignant cells of epithelium, mesothelium and hematopoietic tissue. It has been reported that the expression of the splice variant of the specific cell adhesion molecule CD44 is associated with the metastasis of some human malignancies, such as breast cancer. In the literature (Fox SB et al.), the expression of complex types of CD44 variants in different tumors was compared with the expression of CD44 in normal cells.Observed in ductal epithelial origin of breast cancer, CD44 variants in vitro show son has high level expression of CD44 in normal breast ductal epithelial not to express, on the contrary, it is reported that many in the normal gastrointestinal epithelium CD44 variants show low level expression, they happen in lower expression of colon cancer, and the expression of CD44 variants present a different level, normal epithelial cells in the respiratory tract CD44 variants show high levels of expression, the epithelial expressing the same variants in lung cancer and the expression level is similar.
