CD1a is mainly expressed in dendritic cells and thymic cortical cells. 70% of thymic cells are positive, and early or mature thymic cells are often not expressed.In clinical diagnosis, the combined expression of CD1a and s-100 can be used in the diagnosis of langham's histiocytosis.CD1a is used for the classification of thymoma and can also be used to differentiate thymic tumors from primary lung tumors.
