CD1a

CD1a has been shown to limit the ability of T cells to respond to glycolipid antigen responses, and at least five CD1a genes (CD1a, b, c, d, and e) have been identified.CD1a belongs to a family of glycoproteins that express a variety of human antigen presenting cells. Its molecular weight is 43 to 49Kd and it is expressed in dendritic cells and cortical thymocytes. This protein is also expressed in the skin and some epithelial cells of langerhans cells.
