CD11c

CD11c is a member of the integrin family of adhesive proteins. It has been reported that CD11c is expressed in normal tissues, mainly in myeloid cells such as myeloid granulocytes of the bone marrow, promyelocytic, metamyelocyte,none-lobulated and lobulated neutrophils. As well as in tissue of macrophages and monocytes,it expressed at high levels, but it is at low levels in granulocytes. It has also been reported in the literature to be expressed in NK cells, activated T cells, and lymphoid cell lines, including hair cell leukaemia and some finger-like dendritic cells. The expression of CD11c antigen is a practical marker of monocyte differentiation in the classification of acute myeloid leukemia and a practical indicator for the identification of hair cell leukemia.
