SALL4 gene is responsible for regulating the self-renewal of embryonic stem cells and is a key gene in many tumors. SALL4 is a carcinoembryonic protein, and studies have shown that SALL4 is a sensitive and specific marker for seminoma nuclear ovarian primordial germ cell tumors. It is also a progenitor subclass marker for hepatocellular carcinoma with an aggressive phenotype.
Mainly used as a specific marker for seminoma and ovarian primordial germ cell tumors.
