SMAD4 gene is located on chromosome 18q21.1. The gene transcription has a total length of 2680 bp, contains 552 amino acids, and has a relative molecular weight of 60 kD. SMAD4 junction region is necessary for other SMADs to bind to it. SMADs are the key link that TGF-β signal enters nucleus from cytoplasm. SMAD4 plays a key role in TGF-β-mediated family signal transduction and regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and immune regulation.

[Intended Use]

This antibody is intended for use in Immunohistochemical applications on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues (FFPE). The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient’s clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist.
