SATB2 is a transcription factor that binds to the nuclear matrix binding region and plays an important role in transcription regulation and chromatin remodeling. SATB2 is a key regulatory molecule in the process of osteoblast differentiation and bone matrix formation, and its mutation can cause congenital maxillofacial deformities. SATB2 is a core molecule in the development of the central nervous system and plays an important role in normal development of the corpus callosum and pons; SATB2 is also involved in the occurrence of tumors and its expression is increased in breast cancer and other malignant tumors.
