MDM2 is a ubiquitin-connected enzyme located in the long arm of chromosome 12.The immunohistochemistry detects MDM2 high expression, which is of value in diagnosinghighly differentiated lipoma and de-differentiated liposarcoma. However, the antibody can alsobe positive in fusicellulartum orpleomorphicsarcomas such as malignant peripheral schwannoma, myxofibrosarcoma and rhabdosarcoma. As a result, MDM2 and CDK4 can be jointly tested to identify highly differentiated lipoma and de-differentiated liposarcoma.
