In the normal liver, glutamine sysins are expressed in stem cells around the center, not in the liver cells around the venous veins.Glutamine synthase has been considered a marker of liver cell cancer. Glutamine synthase is expressed in most liver cell liver cancers, including 70% early hepatocellular liver cancer and 59% low-differentiated liver cancer.
