Calponin is a type of troponin whose main physiological function is to inhibit the contraction of smooth muscle cells.

Clinical Application

[Intended Use]

  • Mainly used for the diagnosis of smooth muscle tumors and myoepithelial cell tumors
  • For diagnosis of tissue lesions containing myoepithelial cells such as breast.
  • For nerve sheath myxoma and angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma
