Progesterone Receptor

Human progesterone receptor (PR) is expressed in two subunit, PRA (94kD) and PRB (114kD), whose function is as a transcription factor for ligandactivated. PRA is a form of PRB cut-off that lacks the starting 164 N-end amino acid residues. The role of human PRA is trans-dominant inhibition of PRB, glucocorticoid receptors, estrogen receptors, androgen receptors and transcription activity of saline corticosteroid receptors.PRB works primarily as a transcription activation factor. PRB is strongly expressed in the endometrial glands and interstitial nucleus during the menstrual cycle hyperplasia period, but it is expressed weakly in the secretion period of menstruation and in the early stages of pregnancy.
