The CD23 molecule is a low-affinity IgE receptor found on B cells. The CD23 antigen is a 45 kDa membrane glycoprotein reported to be present in peripheral blood B cell populations, B Iymphocytes, and EBv-transformed B- lymphoblastoid cell lines. CD23 antigen expression is found in monocytes and dendritic cells.
The CD20 antigen is a non-glycosylated phosphoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 33 kDa, expressed on normal and malignant human B cells, and is thought to act as a receptor in B-cell activation and differentiation. It has been reported that the CD20 antigen is expressed in normal B cells in peripheral blood, lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils, bone marrow, acute leukemias, and chronic lymphocytic leukemias.

The CD8 molecule is a 32 kDa glycoprotein composed of two chains, present on the surface of suppressor/cytotoxic Tcells. It is a receptor for MHC class I molecules, and its intracellular part is associated with the p56lck glycoprotein kinase, which regulates the function of the TCR/CD3 complex. This antibody is mainly used to label suppressor/cytotoxic T cells (accounting for about 25-30% of peripheral blood lymphocytes). It is generally used in combination with CD4.
CD7 is a 40 kDa membrane-bound protein, the earliest T-lymphocyte-specific antigen expressed, and the only early marker present throughout T-cell differentiation. This antibody can be used to detect normal human T cells and for the classification of lymphomas and leukemias.
It is reported that the CD5 antigen is expressed in 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. In lymph nodes, it is mainly observed to be associated with T-cell reactions. The CD5 antigen also reacts with many T-cell leukemias, lymphomas, activated T cells, and some B cells mainly located in the mantle zone of normal lymph nodes. It has also been reported that the CD5 antigen is expressed in acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), some chronic B-lymphocytic leukemias (B-CLL), and B- and T-cell lymphomas.
The CD3 molecule is composed of five different polypeptide chains and is expressed on the surface of all mature T cells. This antibody reacts with a cytoplasmic protein of T cells, the CD3 antigen. T cells in thethymic cortex, medulla, and peripheral lymphoid tissues are all stained. This antibody is suitable for the diagnosis of T cells in formalin-fixed, Paraffin-embedded normal and tumor tissues.
CD2 is expressed on the surface of mature T cells and NK cells. CD2 can promote the recognition ofantigens by T lymphocytes and enhance the adhesion and signal transduction between T lymphocytes, thymocytes, and NK cells with antigen-presenting cells and target cells. This antibody can label normal T cells and their related tumors.
CD1a is expressed on dendritic cells, Langerhans cells of the skin, and cortical thymocytes. CD1a is used for the typing of thymic carcinoma and can also be used for the differential diagnosis of thymic tumors and primary thoracic tumors.
