TPO (C3B12), MMab
Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) is an enLymne expressed in the thyroid gland. TPO catalyzes the oxidation of iodide to iodine, which is then incorporated into tyrosine residues of thyroglobulin to produce thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (3) . The expression of the Tpo gene is regulated by thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) . In normal thyroid tissue, TPO shows diffuse, granular cytoplasmic staining in all follicular cells. TPO expression levels are lower in thyroid carcinoma than in normal thyroid tissue and benign thyroid tumors.
