CDX-2 is a protein composed of 311 amino acids and functions as an intestine-specific transcription factor. CDX-2 shows high expression in the duodenum, colon, and rectum, with strong specificity, and can be used as an intestinal epithelial-specific marker in pathological diagnosis. Approximately more than 95% of invasive colorectal carcinomas exhibit positive CDX-2 expression.
