CK5/6/p63 detection reagent (Immunohistochemical)
Calponin/p63 detection reagent (Immunohistochemical) is mainly used to qualitatively identify Calponin and p63 proteins. Using immunohistochemical dual staining detection and multiple antibody combination technology, there are detected two antigen targets at the same time on the same sample tissue section by one staining process.
Product Feature
a) CK5/6 is a high-molecular-weight basal cytokeratin expressed in squamous epithelium, basal ductal cells, myoepithelial cells, mesothelial cells, and selected glandular epithelial cells.
b) CK5/6 supports the differential diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma, mesothelioma, adenocarcinoma, and benign versus malignant ductal epithelial proliferative lesions.
c) In breast lesions, CK5/6 is strongly expressed in most usual ductal hyperplasia (UDH) cases, while its expression is markedly reduced in many atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH) and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) cases.
d) Combined CK5/6 and TTF-1 staining assists in differentiating mesothelioma from lung adenocarcinoma, as CK5/6 is commonly positive in mesothelioma whereas TTF-1 is usually negative.
e) The CK5/6/TTF-1 antibody combination helps distinguish lung adenocarcinoma from lung squamous cell carcinoma; co-expression may indicate adenosquamous carcinoma.
