CK8/18

Cytokeratin 8 is a type II cytoskeleton 8, usually co-expressed with cytokeratin 18, and is present in most monolayer catheters and glandular epithelium, such as the thyroid, breast, gastrointestinal tract, and respiratory tract epithelium. It is expressed in adenocarcinoma and most cases of non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma, but not in keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma. It can be combined with CK5/6 for the identification of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
