GATA3, is a zinc finger transcription factor that plays an important role in promoting and guiding cell proliferation, development and differentiation in many tissues and cell types which binds to the DNA sequence (A/T)GATA(A/G). GATA3 has been reported to be expressed in breast cancer and urothelial carcinoma, while it is rarely expressed in other tumors. GATA3 was expressed in all breast lobular carcinomas and 91% invasive ductal carcinoma (grade I,100%;Level, 89%;At the same time, the expression of GATA3 was positively correlated with ER、 PR and negatively correlated with HER-2 in breast cancer. GATA 3 is also expressed in urothelial carcinoma, especially in invasive and high-grade tumors. Therefore, GATA3 can be utilized as a differential diagnosis of urothelial carcinoma and tumors of unknown origin.
