Product Application:
For staining of acid‑fast bacilli (Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium leprae).
Staining Principle:
The cell wall of acid‑fast bacilli is rich in lipids. After staining, they are resistant to decolorization by hydrochloric acid‑alcohol and appear red; background tissue and other bacteria are readily decolorized.
Staining Results:
Acid‑fast bacilli appear red; background appears blue.
