HBsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen) is a surface antigen of the hepatitis B virus. It is primarily used in the diagnosis of hepatitis, particularly for detecting the hepatitis B virus in liver biopsy samples. It is also valuable in etiological studies of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. In addition, this antibody aids in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of hepatitis-associated nephritis.
