Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) antibody recognizes the formalin-resistant epitope of the native ALK protein. ALK specifically labels t(2;5)-positive cells, yielding strong cytoplasmic staining that may also be associated with nuclear staining. ALK expression is a defining feature of a subset of anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL) and is a key prognostic indicator. Furthermore, ALK IHC has emerged as a highly sensitive and cost- effective screening tool for detecting ALK rearrangements in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC), guiding the use of targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapies.
