Glutamine Synthetase
Glutamine synths catalyze glutamate and ammonia in the mammalian liver to form glutamine. In the normal liver, glutamine sysins are expressed in stem cells around the center, not in the liver cells around the venous veins.Glutamine synthase has been considered a marker of liver cell cancer. Glutamine synthase is expressed in most liver cell liver cancers, including 70% early hepatocellular liver cancer and 59% low-differentiated liver cancer.
