Villin is a cytoskeletal protein that can mark the brush border of the intestine. As an intestinal-specific marker, the combined application of Villin and CDX2 can clarify the source of metastatic adenocarcinoma. When they both are positive, the tumor may originate in any part of the intestinal origin; when only CDX2 is strongly positive but Villin expression is not clear, the origin of the colon in the tumor can be basically determined.
