IMP3 (Insulin -like growth factor II mRNA binding proterin 3) is a binding protein of cancerous embryo RNA consisting of 580 amino acids and containing 4 K homologous domains. IMP3 is usually expressed in early embryonic tissue, but also in tumor cells that originate in a certain proportion of non-small cell lung cancer and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. In addition, some cancers that originate in other organs such as the bladder, cervix, colon, esophagus and stomach have been found to express IMP3. The antibody can be used as a useful marker for identifying benign and malignant tissues.
