Glypican family consists of six members, all made up of glucosinamine polyglycine (GAG) linked to the core protein. The glypican-3 gene located in chromosome Xq26.1, encoding an extracellular glucose is composed of 580 amino acids protein, relative molecular weight of 66kDa.
Glypican-3 is involved in regulating cell value-added, differentiation, adhesion and migration, and may also involve inhibiting or regulating the growth of most middle embryo tissues and organs, which are expressed in a variety of malignant tumors. Recent studies have shown that Glypican-3 is important in identifying good malignancies.
