CD33

CD33 antigen has been reported to appear in granular mononuclear precursor cells after expression of CD34 antigen, and then to continue to be expressed in both myeloid (granular) and mononuclear cell lines, although CD33 antigen has been reported to be not expressed in granulocytes.CD33 antigen expression has been reported to be restricted to monocytes, promyelocytes, myeloid cells, some acute undifferentiated leukemias, and acute lymphoblastic leukemias. The expression of CD33 antigen has been shown to be an important marker in the differentiation of myeloid leukemia from lymphocytic leukemia.
