C-erB-2 Oncoprotein (HER-2)
The C-erbB-2 gene encodes a protein called tyrosine kinase that is a transmembrane protein with a molecular weight of 185kDa.HER2 is a proto-oncogene whose activation can directly lead to malignant transformation or increase of malignant transformation potential of some human cells.Many studies have shown that amplification of the HER2 gene leads to the development of some breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer and other tumors, and HER2 amplified in these tumors is directly used as the target of targeted drugs (such as herceptin) for the treatment of tumors.
