T-cell intracytoplasmic antigen (TIA-1) is a 17kDa intracytoplasmic granule-associated protein, expressed in cells that are prone to cytolysis, recently named GMP-17 (17kDa granule membrane protein). This molecule may be related to the molecular cascade of FAS (CD95) -mediated apoptotic signaling. In hematopoietic cell lines, this antibody reacts with 90% CD16 positive, 50-60% CD8 positive, and 10% CD4 positive lymphocytes in normal peripheral blood. It also reacts with almost all monocytes and granulocytes, CD4-positive activated T cell line, activated NK cell line and Con-A activated thymocytess, but not with B cell line.
